Nepali Congress's parliamentary party in Sudurpashchim has objected that the provincial government has yet to present a budget about 55 days after its formation. Party leader and former chief minister Kamal Bahadur Shah said in a statement that the budget vacuum is disrupting routine work, development projects, essential services and even salary payments. He says the government failed to present the budget on Asoj 21 as its own business advisory committee had decided. Congress notes the Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing with both sides on Asoj 23 and argues it would be improper to proceed before any order. It also warned against talk of bringing the budget by ordinance while the assembly is in session, saying it would bypass the house, and promised strong opposition. Ratopati reports the assembly sitting has been postponed until Saturday.
